Conclusion of the Study of Bible Prophecy
It is our duty to obey God.Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Most people today ignore the command of Joshua as follows: Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
16 And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;
17 For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed: And the people said they would not forsake the Lord. Today that is exactly what has happened.
Daniel 2, the prophet Daniel described four world kingdoms reaching down to the second coming of Christ. He further describes a power that seeks to change times and laws in Daniel 7. Revelation 13 identifies the worldwide beast power as the Roman Catholic Church. Revelation 12 describes another group. Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
And Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Almost all of the prophecies in the Bible have come to pass. We have seen from this limited study that the Bible does clarify itself. Now, what is a remnant? Not too long ago, if you had a bolt of cloth and ran out of cloth, you would go to the store with a little piece of the original. You would compare the little piece with the rolls of cloth in the store and examine the color, weave, and texture until you found the exact copy. Well, there are many bolts of cloth in the religious world today. The remnant is simply that group of believers which has the beliefs that most closely resemble the beliefs of the early church.
No Christian should be comfortable letting another person establish doctrine for them. If a person can read, then that person should read for him or herself. If not, there is radio and there are audio tapes available in most parts of the world. It is good to remember the words in Psalms 142:2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. Everyone is saved by grace. Everyone is subject to making mistakes. We need to go to the Bible to find out if the preacher, pastor, reverend, or priest is telling us the truth, not go to them to interpret Scripture for us.
Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
We are told to worship the Creator. The everlasting gospel is related to God's work of creation. There is a commandment that reminds us of God's creative power and right to rule over us. It is the Sabbath! God created this earth and then commanded us to set aside a day for worship to honor Him. Jesus said John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
It is not a matter of the sabbath being a Jewish institution because anyone who is baptized is a spiritual Jew. Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
It is not a matter of the Old Testament being old fashioned or out-of-date. Sometimes we hear of "New Testament churches", as though there was no Old Testament at all. However, what did Jesus say? John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And again, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read. What did He read? Luke 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Jesus quoted from the Old Testament book of Isaiah. Jesus also kept the Sabbath, and He was a great believer in prophecy!
It is not a matter of legalism. If we love God, we will keep His commandments. It is our duty to obey the Lord. In Greek symbolism, a schoolmaster was a person hired by a rich family to take the children to school. Since most of the New Testament is derived from Greek, let us notice the meaning of the following: Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
The apostle Paul made it clear that we are not saved by works. And, works are not negated by faith at all. When we understand the penalty Christ paid by paying homage to the law of God, it makes us want to obey God all the more! Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
The Bible says come out of Babylon. Come out of confusion. Find a commandment-keeping people who believe we are saved by grace through faith. Investigate for yourself. Seventh-day Adventists believe in the Bible as their ultimate source of Truth. Visit a Seventh-day Adventist church on Saturday morning and find out for yourself. What the world calls Saturday is really the Sabbath of the Lord. It has never been changed by God. It has been changed by man. To find a Seventh-day Adventist church by geographic area click here.
There is a lot more to what Seventh-day Adventists believe, but there is not enough room on these pages. Please visit any of the links below, or go to the List of Beliefs page.
